With Christmas being a week away now, it's time to get in any last-minute gifts. For you folks looking to either spread the love or to feed the passion of a Pulp lover, consider the following:
- Magazines: Look, I get that the serial short fiction format struggles in print, but we've got all-digital as an option now. So give some love if you can to Cirsova, Storyhack, Astounding Frontiers, Lyonesse, and Broadswords & Blasters.
- The Breakouts: Got Nick Cole & Jason Anspach's Galaxy's Edge yet? Fix that. Likewise, Brian Niemeier's Soul Cycle series and Larry Correia's Monster Hunter International series.
- The Classics: Robert E. Howard's omnibus series (starting with his Conan series), E.E. Smith's many classics (starting with the Lensman series), Edgar Rice Burroughs (starting with the Mars series), and the Mystery Men of old (The Shadow)(The Phantom)(The Spider).
- From Japan: The original Light Novel series for Legend of the Galactic Heroes, which will tide you over until the new series debuts in the Spring of 2018.
- Our Own Offerings: If you don't have (or your intended recipient) doesn't have the PulpRev Sampler, fix that. Also, give our man Cheah some love by snapping up his novel: No Godes, Only Daemons
There's more out there but you can walk those preferences on to the target from what I give above as starting positions. Good luck, and Merry Christmas.
